Clean the Lock Surfaces

You should eliminate grime and dust from your lock surfaces on a regular basis. This practice is important because your customers will notice the door locks when visiting your premises. A well-maintained lock can leave a positive impression on the clients. In addition, it is essential to note that the build-up of grime, dirt and other substances on the hardware increases the rate of wear. Prepare Good Spare Keys

Commercial door locks are often ruined by the use of unsuitable keys. Therefore, you should minimise the problem by preparing a good set of spare keys. These duplicates should be made using the original as the template. Duplicates of the duplicates can accelerate lock damage because the condition will be imperfect. If a key becomes worn out or damaged, replace it immediately with a good spare.

Use Some Lubricant

You should plan on lubricating your commercial locks periodically. This maintenance process is essential because it promotes the smooth movement of the internal parts of the door lock. The lubricant will also eliminate friction, which causes accelerated wear of components. In addition, the use of a lubricant helps in removing the dirt and dust which that have penetrated the lock. When performing this upkeep task, you should avoid looking for oil-based materials. These products often attract clogging dust to the lock, and oils can freeze in low-temperature surroundings. Instead, opt for a solution like graphite.

Finally, you should monitor the lock condition and contact a commercial locksmith for immediate repairs if you notice damage or any anomalies.
